ABOUT GABRIEL'S GARDEN

In a region more known for its peaches, Michael & Jennifer Vasich of Gabriel’s Garden are spreading the good news about Lavender! They began growing the perennial favorite along with other culinary herbs as recently as Spring of 2005, yet for them, it feels like a lifetime. The process has been a joy for the family to discover and share together.
“I love doing what I am doing. It makes me feel good to see how this is affecting others in such a positive way.”, says Michael.

“We chose to grow lavender because we have an enormous belief in the therapeutic benefits that the plant offers", adds Jennifer, "We started from scratch and now care for a modest 200+ lavender plants in our Lavender Cottage Garden, among some other 250+ herbs & perennials. We plan to add a hundred plants or so each year while still maintaining our ‘Romantic English’ garden feel, rather than that of a ‘commercial farm’.”

The Vasich’s grow several different varieties of lavender. They primarily grow Hidtcote & Munstead because of their hardiness to the cold Michigan winters and their beautiful aesthetic appeal. Their lavender is harvested for bundles and sachets, but the flowers are also used in soap and in the line of herbal teas produced by Gabriel’s Garden. Lavender is a soothing and fragrant sun-loving perennial, and when given the proper soil requirements, it is one of the hardiest plants to grow!

The passion of Gabriel's Garden is to share their love for lavender, natural living & the joys of everyday life. They are currently working hard to help other local artisans promote their business and grow within the local economy. Remember, when you visit Gabriel's Garden, you are supporting the local arts - you are helping to make dreams blossom into reality!

The Gabriel's Garden Lavender Boutique, which was once located in downtown Romeo, Michigan, will soon re-launch it's online presence in August, 2011. Local art, gourmet foods and other unique lavender-themed goods will be available, along with Gabriel's signature line of luxurious lavender bath and body products. www.allthingslavender.com
